Crawfordsburn Country Park, Bangor. Happiness is your nature, it is not wrong to desire it. Mindfulness is achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique. We can invite the beauty of nature to embrace the beauty we hold within, focusing ones attention to the sound of our breathing. On this beach I have often listened to the tide roll in, hearing the waves hit the rock sides whilst listening to the evening birds sing. The scents that nature blooms, I can smell. The salt air I can taste on my lips and feeling the texture of the sand at my feet and the rock surface beneath my body assures me that I am grounded, yet free. The colours of the sunset shows me life isn’t black and white, taking in the different colours of the sky, the rock formations and the leaves growing in the near by woods. I feel drawn to the shapes and textures of the trees taking in the growths of natural art and its outstanding beauty. I feel the heat of the evening sun beaming down on me, I close my eyes whilst cleansing the mind, body and soul. I feel lighter each time I practice mindfulness, allowing time for the universe to manifest my destiny. I build these little stone towers often, both at home and on vacation usually on a beach. I find this very therapeutic and look at it as a source of meditation. Through creativity, I create art using nothing but my imagination and emotions. I’m sure you have seen this before, but my purpose is different... I don’t do this when I am feeling low or at my worst, I do it when I feel it’s necessary. Each rock I call a different emotion that come to mind or how I am feeling during that time of erecting. I have 8 stones here, meaning I can build a small piece of art using 8 emotions and it takes a cracking picture, but it also means it’s guaranteed to fall over or to be swept away. I believe it will be swept away. This helps my purpose. Emotions building this piece of art; sadness, disgust, fear, shame, embarrassment, anger, envy and confusion...
